FASHION & XRIST (The Style of His Resurrection)

A tented Oliver Tweest Foods’ garden in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State will be the setting on Easter Sunday evening, April 12, 2009 for the first Fashion & Xrist collective, starring the singer Dani Andi, and featuring the collections of four designers Abasiema Godfrey of Basigz; Uduak Robert of DeWillz Couture, Panta and toast of the season, Favour Henry of 2Pretty4aPenny.

The designs will be modeled by a roll call of girls from the House of Gazelles based in various parts of Nigeria, along with John John, the most celebrated Uyo based male model and catwalk fireworks, Tilda Jumbo, Unwana Manfred and Marylyn Etuk.

Fashion & Xrist is inspired by the story of Jesus Christ and is timed to mark His resurrection, which will result in a style and glamorous explosion as colorful as the rainbow. The collective will be shown under four themes; Life Before Xrist; The Death of Xrist; The style of His Resurrection and The Glorious Life.

Basigz will show his Retro Avant-garde pieces in black hue and shade, telling tales of the dark ages and Life Before Xrist. Dewillz collection will feature iridescent red ensembles capturing the blood that was shade on Calvary’s cross. The new life brought by the resurrection of Xrist will be displayed in the white as snow collection of Panta. A spectrum of colours from guest designer, 2Pretty4aPenny & urban gears from B&G Xclusive will take all present to The Glorious Life.
Fashion & Xrist is part of the 2009 Easter holiday package jointly presented by House of Gazelles communications, Akwa Ibom State premier fashion production agency and renowned city clothier Ime Udoh of B&G Xclusive, in collaboration with Oliver Tweest Foods. To support the event are; Barbina Rentals, Royalline Technologies, Naija Repin Entertainment, PureVision, GT Technologies, Daniels Signature, Emem and Sons Nig Ltd, Ust’n Photography, Design & Build Ltd., Imaginationz & Events.

Stitches N' a Needle - The Fashion Show


As one of her projects to promote and sustain haute fashion industry in Akwa Ibom State Nigeria, House of Gazelles Communications a fashion production, events and ad support agency is introducing a fashion exhibition, tagged Stitches N’ a Needle for secondary fashion designers in the State.

Stitches N' a Needle is designed to be an Emerging Designer Search for secondary Akwa Ibom based fashion designers. We hope that by giving an exhibition and national broadcast platform to these incredible budding Akwa Ibom designers, we can increase awareness of their garments and, in so doing, build their brands and businesses. It will be very exciting to be able to see these designers bring new ideas to life in a world where there is very little originality. The show will young designers competing in 5 categories including, Bridal, Corporate, Evening, Street/Casual and Beach. Designers will be required to make uniformed male and female outfits in the above stated categories of the competition. Winner of the House of Gazelles Needle’s Award will be entitled to an Award Prize of $3000 US Dollars. 2 guest designers will showcase a collection of 15 - 20 looks each. Models from the House of Gazelles, Stylishly dubbed Gazelles will also be bringing tremendous energy to the catwalk, exploring volume and weightlessness in an occasion where stylish will meet classic.

The Indian Summer affair tagged Stitches N’ a Needle would be headlined by the reigning Niger-delta best designer, Oke Oyibo of Mutayz Mode and one other designer.
